Padel Copa Utrecht 2024 kicks off with strong Dutch participation
Today marks the start of Padel Copa Utrecht 2024, and this year the tournament has a strong Dutch flavor! With an impressive lineup of top Dutch players, it promises to be an exciting competition. No fewer than fifteen Dutch women and nearly thirty Dutch men begin their journey today, and they could really use the support of the home crowd.
This evening, Bram Meijer and Sten Richters, the number 1 pair in the Netherlands and seeded 5th here, will take the court against the Dutch duo Jorrit Hazebroek and Thomas Panken. We’ll also see the top-seeded French pair, Johan Bergeron and Bastien Blanque, in action. They will face the Portuguese-Spanish duo Joao Maria Caiano and Jorge Angles Ponce.
In addition to Dutch talent, Padel Copa Utrecht also attracts some international padel stars. Rodrigo Coello Manso, the brother of world number one Arturo Coello and seeded 7th, is one of the highlights of this tournament. Along with the French pair Bergeron and Blanque, Simone Cremona (ITA) and Afonso Fazendeiro (POR) are seeded 2nd in the draw.
If you want to enjoy both Dutch and international stars in a lively and unique atmosphere, Jaarbeursplein in Utrecht is the place to be in the coming days! Tickets are still available.
