Padel Copa Utrecht ends with two exciting finals

Today the Jaarbeursplein was the scene of the semi-finals and finals of Padel Copa Utrecht. The sun broke through, the center court was in perfect condition and the summer temperatures made watching padel a party. High-level matches kept the audience on the edge of their seats. People cheered, shouted and enjoyed: a final day full of spectacle!
Excitement from the start: semifinals women
The day began at 1 p.m. with the women’s semifinals. On center court, Kurz & Koek (4) took on Perez Ortiz & Borrero (2). The runner-up won convincingly 6-4, 6-3 and qualified for the final. The other semifinal was played at Sportclub Houten, where top-seeded Arruabarrena & Bidahorria (1) had no problems with Guimet Bigas & Pozuelo Dominguez: 6-3, 6-1.
Two title contenders, one final spot
Then it was the men’s turn. On center court the Dutchmen Prins & De Kroon (8) met the Spanish duo Santigosa Sastre & Sanchez Chamero (2). The Spaniards were too strong and won 6-2, 6-4. In Houten, Valdes & Collado Losada (1) defeated their compatriots Trillas Garcia & Figuerola Santiago (9) 6-0, 6-3. They too steamed convincingly through to the final.
Women’s final reaches boiling point
The women’s final pitted the tournament’s number one and two players against each other. Arruabarrena & Bidahorria (1) and Perez Ortiz & Borrero (2) made it a real cracker. After an exciting three-setter, Arruabarrena & Bidahorria won: 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. They can call themselves winners of the Padel Copa Utrecht 2025.
Men provide fireworks in final
The two highest ranked duos also faced each other in the men’s final. Valdes & Collado Losada (1) started strong and took the first set 7-6. A medical timeout briefly created uncertainty, but the battle resumed. Santigosa Sastre & Sanchez Chamero (2) came back strong and won the second set 6-3. In the deciding set they left no stone unturned by their opponents: 6-0. Santigosa Sastre & Sanchez Chamero crowned themselves winners of Padel Copa Utrecht 2025!
