Large Crowd Gathers as Semi Finals set at Padel Copa Hamburg
Padel Copa Hamburg is down to just 4 teams. On a beautiful day at the Active City Arena, the field was cut in half in four thrilling matches.
Following a week of qualifications and opening rounds, mainly played at the indoor facility Padelon Hamburg Hummelsbuttel, the matches took to the Active City Arena fanzone on Saturday. With matches of Beachvolleyball event Queen & King of the Court taking place simultaneously, over 1000 people gathered in the Hamburg sun.
They saw four padel teams qualify for the final day, with second seeded duo Max Moreau and Alberto Garcia Jimenez (France/Spain) going in as favorites. They won’t have it easy, however, as Spanish youngsters Cabeza/Aragon and Minano/Romera impressed in their respective quarter-final victories. The final match of the day was won by the French/Dutch duo of Philemon Raichman & Thijs Roper.
Sunday’s action will see the semi-finals kick off at 10:00, with the final planned for 16:00. The matches will once again feature in the Active City Arena fanzone, which features free entry.
