Dutch party at the opening night of Padel Copa

Thursday’s Padel Copa started at Sportclub Houten, where no less than 18 matches were played in the third qualifier and the round of 32. Despite the gloomy weather forecast, the evening dawned and the centre court looked beautiful. All matches could be played.

The opening match on centre court was between Farquharson & Jones vs. Meijer & Schoonus. Meijer & Schoonus won the first set convincingly and after an exciting tiebreak also took the second set: 6-2, 7-6(5). The second match of the evening was between Van Opstal & Esteban Barroso vs. Richters & Roper. An incredibly exciting three-setter after which Richters & Roper came away with the win. The result 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. 

Tomorrow there are some great matches on the program again. From 10:00 the last duels in the round of 32 and the round of 16 will start at Sportclub Houten. The first match on centre court starts at 14:00 and will be played in the men’s round by Valdes & Collado Losada vs. Groen & Groen. This match will be followed by a women’s match, namely Kurz & Koek vs. Sermant & De Decker or Van Houten & Nikkelen. The evening session will start at 19:00. The first match will be between Seurin & Raichman vs. Prins & De Kroon. The second match of the evening will be between Notenboom & Portillo vs. Richters & Roper.
